How plants let go of their leaves

when parts of a plant such as dead leaves, or fruit ripen
and detach, this process is called — a b c i s s i o n;
a making of space to cut away the sores of tomorrow.

blind fruit; seedless; heedless in failure of redemption.

i too cut my losses when the fruits comes too heavy to
bear; too heavy a price like the legs that can carry me
no longer.

i am not indigent. just incompetent.

scars cut me like a map and you’re little different.

if mother makes a dance of it, she’s a different kind
of judge; but you didn’t know enough to tell her no.

there’s no redemption in poetry; just more sadness.
another petal and the springtime falls.

what loveliness to be so unrequitedly alone.
